Capital One Spark Cash Plus Business Credit Card - $3000 sign-up bonus on $50k/6 month spend

+20 Deal Score
42,996 Views
You need to spend $50k in 6 months on this card to get the $3,000 bonus. If you can't charge that much, or can't manufacture that spend, move along. This isn't a card for a college kid. This is a brand new offer, and is time limited (no mention of when it expires).

2% cashback on everything, no categories. $150 annual fee. Can't tell if it hits you with the AF on application, but assuming it does, you'll clear $3850 in 6 months with the $50k spend. That's nearly 8% (back of the napkin calc), which is the highest I've ever seen on a card bonus. This is a GOOD deal. I'd probably churn this and drop the card at year 1 unless they waive AF in year 2.

Yes, this is a business card but the prevailing wisdom is that anyone can get one. You sell on eBay? Congrats, you own a business.

Thanks. So I can figure out how to spend $15,000 right away since paying property taxes and taxes will charge 2.25% tax..so I lose .25 percent.. This card gives you back 2% right? Now I need to figure out how to use the additional 35k. Hmmm.. 6 months! Don't really need a new card or any furniture or appliances.. I can probably find usage for another 15k.. but hat last $20,000 is going to be a bit tough! Any ideas?

I don't trust the government keeping good records for that amount of money!

Like other offer, this one was just launched so like the Venture X lauched in November last year and the promo still around, I would assume the same with this new Spark Business card.

$3,000, not $300. Also, this is a charge and not credit card, so you have to pay it off every month. This deal isn't for amateurs.
nah it's for morons.

Please point me to a guaranteed source of approx. 8% return on a $50,000 investment over 6 months. I'm waiting.

Using a business credit card to pay for $50k in personal expenses will get you blacklisted by Capital One, which will put you on the blacklist for all major banks. Not worth the risk.

My LLC has exactly this scenario coming up in April. The 2% cashback negates the credit card fee, and the $3000 bonus is way more than what we could get from our Chase Sapphire rewards card. Easy way to make $3000 in an instant Big Grin

Can I prepay $50K in personal taxes (even though I likely do not owe any), get the bonus, and then receive the $50K back on my tax return? The IRS would not flag this? Technically it's a free loan for them, but $3,000 for tying up $50K for a month or two does not seem like such a bad deal.

Car lease ending soon. Too expensive to buy a new car. Maybe I should buy out the lease with this card?

They don't usually care about small purchases but it would be hard to hide personal purchases when you have to spend $50k
