Stick with Eneloops, I've tried many different rechargeable batteries over the last 20 years or so but I always come back to it. Extra 60-70 cents per battery is definitely worth it.

For SF Bay area, the East Palo Alto store still carries made in Japan Ladda. I just got some AA and AAA even though I don't need them.

Duracell stopped making these in Japan around 2018. China now. Guess that is why they offer the subscribe and save, so you can buy new ones 6 months from now.

All jokes aside, I have a pack of the Chinese ones. I use them to test devices and they do all right for the price.
