If you only need a saw to clear fallen limbs and some storm damage from time, a 16" bar will be just fine. The extra 2" on a saw doesn't make a huge difference in those situations. If you're looking to buck up firewood, I'd get a bigger engine. Minimum 50cc and a 20" bar.

For the average homeowner, this saw will probably do everything you need to do with ease.
