Yeah and unfortunately even with patches and content updates, it likely won't help much. The destruction in this game is almost non existent, so it's more in lines with a bare bones, slightly more sluggish Call of Duty. I deleted it pretty quickly and re-installed Battlefield V, which is a lot more fun.

The effort they put in to the environments/maps when I first played it told me all I needed to know lol. Sucks cuz I've been more of a BF fan when it comes to the COD comparison up until BF5. I thought after they dropped the ball a bit with BF5 it was just a hiccup and they'd be on their game this time around, but jesus murphy they really just said, f*ck it. I still pray they can figure their shxt out

Without a doubt! It's not even a question of being buggy (every AAA game is), it's that they simply did such stupid things. No in game communication (so you can only speak to people on your friends list). The squad leader needs to pick a map each and ever time after the same (so they could simply pick the same map over and over, you don't have any control). 5 minutes of into screens between each and every map... but only 20 seconds to change your loadout before the game _automatically_ dumps you in the game.

Classes? Sure there are classes... but they mean absolutely nothing. But leave them in the game anyway. Makes sense. But now each and every Specialist has some cheese B lines that that they speak all of the time. Gets old after 2 or 3 games.

Tornado? WHY! It is 100% gimmicky and pointless but they spent a lot of resources on it rather then the game.

The game was also released half done _at best_.

All of this follows DICE/EA 100% dropping all support for BFV mid game. They just walked away from it to develop this.

On top of that, there are two games... the PS4 and PS5 version. They are two different games. If you buy one, you cannot play the other. So if I'm playing PS5 BF2042 it shows I'm playing BF2042 but no mention of the version. So anyone with a PS4 who tries to join me will just sit at the loading screen.

BROKEN!

A VERY reasonable time frame is a year to make the game playable but it is still questionable if DICE will bother to fix the issues that they actually built into the game.

Right! It works. It would have been much better for DICE to create content for BFV then to make the pile of ^$&* that is BF2042. The map design in BFV is actually pretty good. It should really not be difficult to make a good map.

Worst BF ever. I wanted and tried to like it but it's a dumpster fire. The community has bailed and it takes FOREVER to get a game going and even then it's half filled with brain dead AI bots.

As someone who paid full price at release I completely agree. The PS5/Series X versions aren't even worth $15.

They turned Battlefield into something I never thought they'd turn it into: Madden. They're tanking Battlefield just like they did with the name of a game that spits in the face of a legend.
