For home use, probably not. 6 is theoretically faster, but unless you've got a gigabit or faster internet connection you're not going to notice it. 6 can also handle more devices, but again you'd struggle to notice that in a home with <30.

Ok but seriously, does it really matter. I am reading about all of these router threads and people wanting speeds >500 or >1000 on their wifi and I ask myself, why? Unless you are a gamer (in which case, you should definitely not be looking at this cheap product), does it really matter if you are getting 250 or 500 or even 100 speed on ONE device. Yes, i know you are paying for 500 speed, which has its use in case you have multiple devices (ie multiple people in your household) using data at once and those on wired connections. For ONE device though, when do you do think you will need speeds greater than even 100? Unless you are downloading tons of movie torrents (if you are shame on you) or doing online gaming, what website do you think is pushing over even 100 speed of data to you. Certainly non of the streaming services even in 4k or Youtube is pushing that amount of speed. Why is everyone so crazy about getting these insane speeds on their wifi? And if you are a gamer, the best way to get RELIABLE fast speed is through a wired gigabit connection.

Stop with the speedtests people

Isn't that more of a recommendation than an actual limit?

I think there is in range. I upgraded from a TP Link C2300 (Wifi 5) to a Netgear RAX38 (Wifi 6) and while right next to the router I still get the same speed (about 500 megabits, I'm on a 600 megabits plan), I did notice that the signal is stronger further away. 50 feet from the router I get about 250 megabits, whereas before I would be lucky to get 100.

I believe these are Meshforce units and they have had security exploits.

Also known to squawk data back to it's homeland (China), so I wouldn't consider these to be great for security.

TCL has been caught tracking and selling your data on their TV's for years, I doubt their network equipment would be any different.

There are some decent differences, wifi 6 can handle multiple devices easier, while having similar range provides faster performance at a distance, primarily made for households who have over 500Mbps ISP plans. Wifi 6 will also passively upgrade the speeds of wifi 5 devices on both 5ghz and 2.4ghz.

The passive speed boost alone on devices is a big difference especially for people using smart home equipment which relies on 2.4ghz getting that additional bandwidth makes the home IOT devices work better.

No, the speed is faster but not noticeable.

This is only AC1200. Don't get the "Mesh Wifi" get in your way of reasoning.

Nothing special, just a cheap way to get a lot of coverage. I guess it would be fine for a lot of older people or people with internet under 500Mbps. This set is probably around 3-4 years old now if I had to guess.
