Custodial Roth (not Roth 401k) is limited by the amount of the child's earned income. So that may be a challenge especially for very young kids.

When I login to my (parent) fidelity account, I can see her account linked to mine. So I had my daughter download fidelity app on her phone and sign up for a user id. However at the end of the process she get an error. Not sure if she still needs to wait for an email before creating online user id.
Has this happened to anyone else?
UPDATE: An email never came through. I spoke with Fidelity customer care and the rep asked my daughter to sign up on Fidelity's website (using a browser) and then use those credentials to login on the mobile app. This process finally worked.
You will need to link you account to hers in order to transfer money. You can do so on the website. I don't think you can do it on the moble app.

I had the same issue so I just wrote out a check and used the deposit feature into my child's account. Money was there next day.
