Complete trash monitors.

Learn from my experience. Don't waste your hard earned money with Monoprice garbage. I love their cables and other low price stuff but their monitors are terrible. They will actually resell used monitors to see if the user will complain. One of the monitors I got still had someone's oily fingerprints on it.

To their credit, their prepaid RMA process was robust.
I have 3 Viewsonics now to replace my garbage defective 3 monoprice 27" monitors and I was nearly in tears when I saw the difference.

Viewsonic, Dell Ultrasharp, Asus, LG, Samsung you can't go wrong with any of these. Make sure they have a 3 year + warranty. Monoprice stops making the same model every 6-8 months so they will force you to accept a different model even if it's not one you like.

FYI on the HDMI cables from Monoprice. Apparently, they are now low quality these days: https://youtu.be/XFbJD6RE4EY go to 8:03

Well, now you and several others have convinced me to stay away from these monitors, after having them in my cart for the past couple days but not quite being able to pull the trigger. Guess I'll wait for a reputable brand to be on sale.
Yes that's exactly what you should do! Believe me, I love bang for the buck too but in the end you will spend more with Monoprice, especially if you buy multiple monitors.

Best to wait for a decent deal on brand name with good warranty and buy that for a few $ more. Monitor is a very personal product used daily so it's important to get something good.

I bought 3 x 27" IPS monitors from Monoprice. Great deal $210 at the time, but I went through 7 monitors. Yes SEVEN. 1 was dead on arrival, 2 had 'sparkly effects' all over screen (wasn't cable), and 4 had unacceptable amount of dead pixels.

5 months after I settled for 5+ dead pixels in middle of monitor, one of the monitors began to bleed red. Had to turn monitor on and off constantly to reset it. Vowed never again Monoprice.

They offered to RMA but couldn't give me the same monitor as they didn't product or carry it anymore. Now I would have a non-matched 27" of a completely different spec as my replacement. I begrudgingly kept my defect 27" bleeder and dealt with it for 3 more years until SD blessed me 3x 27" IPS 144hz viewsonics (3 year warranty!) for $275 each from Amazon before COVID-19.

I'm a reseller and I sell hundreds of these monitors in my computer store...no issues and I've never experienced a used monitor. There zero-pixel warranty is great and I've had excellent service in the few cases where a client did have a dead or stuck pixel.

The used monitors come into the equation when they ship you an RMA. Monoprice recycles old customer RMAs when shipping monitors.

I've given my experience. Good luck with MP monitors. You're not saving much.

I bought 2 of these last time, 1 died one me already. RMAed no problem.

I've always had a problem with the DP connection on them. I can't get them to boot up without being unplugged from the cpu. I plug then in after 5 seconds of power on to the cpu and no problem. I have to put my computer to sleep, if I turn it off I have to unplug them in order to get the cpu to turn on again. What a hassle wish I kept my viewsonic order from Amazon around BF.

I've had this monitor and I have their 35 inch zero g UW currently. They are good enough. If you have the money and have a sharp enough eye to notice the difference in performance then I guess you have to spend that extra $. For the rest of us these are great every day compromise monitors.

Bought on June 5, 2021 as an open box for $170. Have never had a problem. Love it. Can't touch a monitor with anything close to these specs for this price.
