These aren't the strongest suckers but they're pretty durable and user friendly. This is a solid deal for brand new.

Anyone know how it will compare to this Shark on sale at Walmart for $99? I see the Walmart one has "lift away" canister feature and HEPA. I'd be more interested is good carpet performance more than anything.

If This is the vacuum you are interested in, a quick Google search of name and model number will net you 3 different websites with free shipping that sell the 510 for less than your link at Walmart... happy hunting

Don't get that one. I've tried 2 of the lift away and neither work on carpet or rugs.

Most common issue is not adjusting the suction value to match your carpet level. Adjust to until it pushes with less to no effort.

Shark is seemingly a GREAT company. All the normal vacuums are fully sealed*. They all work on bare floors. And you can get parts. They basically sell one level of cleaning, and more features as you pay more. You also pay in weight, the base model is very light.

*edited because the air is filtered... but it's not HEPA.

I have this and the NV70. The NV70 is still going strong after about 4 years. I use it on the main floor. The NV42 is my upstairs vac and even with regular filter changes, the suction is not good after a few years. It's cheap for a reason and when a decent deal comes along I'll be replacing it.
