1. Setup was crazy easy, by far the easiest I have experienced among Mesh routers like Asus and Orbi. I was up and running in about 5-10 minutes. No false starts or restarting from scratch needed to get it working out of the box.
2. Speeds were not as fast I expected, but definitely among the fastest I have tested. Using my iPhone 13 Pro, I was able to get a top speed in the 600-700s right next to the router at first, but would usually average 400-500s. Was never able to achieve higher than that. Speeds were really inconsistent so I would sometimes get as low as 200-300s right next to the router or around the house as well. Hard to tell if it was the router or my ISP. The deco app did not have an option to test the internet connection from the modem to the router.
3. Similar issue with the satellite unit. I have a PC connected via ethernet to the satellite. When first started up, I would reach close to the 1gig speeds, But then for some reason, later I would only get half of that usually around 400-500s directly connected. Same for my wifi devices connected to the satellite, but sometimes even lower at 200s. Not sure if this is due to the dynamic backhaul switching bands possibly?
4. Dealbreaker for me was that my nest cameras would constantly disconnect. Similar problem I had with the XT8s.
I was looking forward to this system, but for my experience and purposes, it did not work out for me. I hooked up my Arris Surfboard mAX AX6600 (2 pack), and everything just works again and will probably keep it. I have more stable, consistent, higher speeds (close 600-700s; further 300-400s) than that of what I was able to get out of the Deco with wireless backhaul. I think the available reviews online (i.e. dong) tested it out when it first came out a year ago and it did not exactly wow anyone. But my guess is that firmware updates have improved it alot since, and from my experience, its working awesome and you get similar speeds from both the router and satellite.

2. Asus XT8 - I liked the speeds when it worked. Sometimes it would take multiple tries during setup for it to recognize the satellite. Big problem I had was with nest cameras constantly disconnecting. Tried factory resetting, binding IPs, turning off 160 mhz channel, separate guest network, but still had that problem.
3. Currently trying out the ARRIS SURFboard mAX Tri-band AX6600 2 pack (on sale at Bestbuy and Amazon). So far I have been pleasantly surprised. Nest cameras working as expected. Average speeds are higher and more consistent compared to my experience with the XT8. Negatives are that it comes with only 2 Ethernet ports and are placed under the unit so my cables are slightly bent (will probably get right angle cables). Also there is no web interface and no real customizations or tinkering that you can do. However, it just works right now and giving me faster and stable speeds.
The ax5700 is clearly the faster unit. However, the range did not work well in my house at all.
Switched to the 3 pack 3600 and the range is impeccable. However, the speeds are lower on paper but there is no noticeable difference in my daily activities (streaming 4k video, work etc).
connecting and naming devices is simple and easy on the deco app. great gui. i believe this model however, can have a lesser total number of devices connected (something to consider as seemingly everything is connected to the net these days). GL

So minus a loss of some coverage which should only apply for huge houses, the AX5700 are the superior unit in terms of performance. So if you have 1Gbps or faster internet this is the set you want.
If coverage continues to be a sticking point just buy 2 2 packs and sell the 4th unit to someone who needs a great single router. The 1 unit router compares to $400 routers and their individual resale value is extremely high.

Want to add for clarification:
If you only have 1Gbps service you will realistically see around 950Mbps with the other 500Mbps+ just available for LAN traffic. So a lot of room for heavy lan traffic like NAS boxes doing local streaming.
So minus a loss of some coverage which should only apply for huge houses, the AX5700 are the superior unit in terms of performance. So if you have 1Gbps or faster internet this is the set you want.

I prefer fully functional web interface than can be controlled locally not rely on cloud .
I am preparing what is my nexr mesh router. Currently use 3x tmobile ac1900 with aimesh. It shows aging now on my experience.
Do you have suggestions mesh wifi that has fully functional of the box ( 2 pieces:router and one node should be a starting point)

Almost no mesh has full or advanced features through web interface. I believe netgear just added some in to their latest Wifi 6E and Wifi 6 higher end mesh but outside of that all app based and limited local control and thats done on purpose cause almost noone needs to make changes from the default.

I am eyeing ax86u but resist to buy due to $$$ pricing, the price nevers drop
either "cloud" mesh for selling my soul to the cloud or pay $$$ for non "cloud" mesh wifi.
