You will need to have UniFi software/hardware to configure this AP. And it is power by PoE so you need to have PoE Ethernet port available that can connect to this AP or has PoE injector, etc.

If you don't have (don't want) UniFi setup (or don't have PoE switch, etc), you may want to get other AP instead.

There is no hub for this. This is purely an access point. You can use this with any router or switch but if you use it with other unifi devices, there will be more integration and management.

The lite versions are the better deal. Getting this one is useless where it has a 1gb port and isnt wifi 6e.

Shipping is free @ $100. Add a small network cable if you order the Lite version. Love these things.

I'm going to use 2x nanostation 5ac locos to bridge to an outbuilding, does it make more sense to use one of these over an ASUS ac86u in AP mode at the outbuilding?

According to documentation, the 5ac loco maxes out at 450Mbps but real world people are seeing half of that. Going with a 5.3Gbps device on the opposite end is extreme overkill.

I have compatibility issue between U6 Pro with WPA3 and Intel AX210. U6 Lite and U6 LR are perfectly good. Ubiquity Support is working on it for a while now but not yet resolved.

Not 6e

Wi-Fi 6E devices use a dedicated 6E spectrum with up to seven additional 160 MHz channels while Wi-Fi 6 devices share the same congested spectrum — and only two 160 MHz channels — with other legacy Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6 devices,"
Does anyone know if Ubiquiti offers a "6E" Access Point at this time?

Hum … so tempting. I have 1 LR AP that I got 3-4 months ago and still have 1 spot with spotty reception. I can put one of these in the basement (not as close to spotty area, but would solve my issue) but not sure about adding another AP to system since never done before. Thanks OP as now I've got a decision to make.

New firmware released this week. Maybe that will fix it?

Not right now. I expect to see something this year, especially with the AT&T lawsuit over 6GHz spectrum allocation decided.
