If you don't have (don't want) UniFi setup (or don't have PoE switch, etc), you may want to get other AP instead.

Works for my first floor with my modem on the 2nd floor. My basement, however, gets very weak WiFi using this TP Link access point. I'm contemplating drilling a hole and fishing another access point down to the basement but that's going to be quite annoying to do.
Would buying the ubiquiti AP increase the range of the access point more effectively than the TP Link to where I can get a stronger connection in my basement?

Keep in mind these are all somewhat directional APs and aren't meant to blast wireless all over. They're meant to work as a system. Either get another Omada or find better placement for the one you have. That EAP225v3 is about as strong as an AP-AC-Pro IMO. Certainly strong enough for general coverage.
There's little point in mixing a UniFi AP with an Omada one. Pick an ecosystem and stick with the model offerings. Both are good. Omadas are maybe a bit more flexible but I needed to reboot mine a few times more a year than most of our UniFis (if on a stable controller release).... Which was almost never.
Also, Ubiquiti has more hardware offerings within their controller but Omada is more recent so that may change eventually.
