Lots of misinformation here. I do a lot of gc transactions via Kroger, in store and on-line, and even if you avoid the fee here, I'm not a fan of mailed Kroger gcmall deals:
1. Transactions via Kroger gc on-line are not processed as grocery purchases, so nope, no Chase or Discover 5x grocery category bonus. (other card spending bonuses, sure)
2. Fixed value visa or mc gcs DO count for 2x fuel points.
3. I actually stopped buying these, precisely because they take "forever" to arrive (often more than two weeks), often have wildly confusing and maddening validation procedures. (sometimes you'll get pin #'s sent separately, sometimes not -- sometimes the pin letters get lost), and yes, you're vulnerable to mail issues. (and yes, all too many reports lately of merchants NOT having your back if you don't receive what they can claim they shipped via untraceable USPS -- insidious. Kroger has not done THAT -- yet -- afaik)
4. That concern aside, and as pointed out by SPepper at GCGalore, it makes more cents to buy 2x100. (for the same shipping fee, $1.00, get more fuel points in same transaction.)
never done this. Most everywhere has systems that will debit remaining balances automatically. Safeway, Kroger, Walmart...there have been a couple that just reject the transaction if the card can't cover it, but that's fine. I just use it up on my next trip to wally.
But, fair enough. Handling this card may be too much for some folks. Best for them to just stay away.
With mail service being what it is, is there tracking? What happens if the gift cards are lost in the mail?
All the hassle and save $9? Remember you have to write down the balance each time after you swipe the card. Some stores' card readers just won't let transactions go through if your gift card doesn't have enough fund for the total charges. You have to tell them exactly how much fund left in the card, so they can split the transaction..... That's all $9 saving is going to cost you..
1.reload it to Amazon account right away.
2. Go to Kroger and buy whatever gift card (exclude visa and master gc). You got gc+2x (or 4x) fuel points.

That's interesting. The POS system at my local Walmart in suburban Chicagoland doesn't accept prepaid cards if the total is greater than the remaining amount. But yes, many other stores do so.
As others have said, there are lots of ways to use these types of prepaid cards with minimal hassles. If you think these cards are too much trouble, you're not a very savvy SD-er.
If you buy $150 prepaid master GC in store, you would get 5% back, which is $7.5. Compared to saving $9 here, you can get the card right away. Is it correct?
Processing……… they review each order before confirming it.

6% discount not worth the hassle to me, especially for physical cards in the mail. Maybe if it were electronic cards I can immediately activate and drain down.

Yes but it will cost an additional $21 in the store. One, no $10 discount and two, $5.95 fee for each card but no $1 shipping fee.

You are forgetting the fees for the Mastercard or visa cards in store.

Although Dollar Tree registers are able to do split tender automatically.

Hopefully these physical cards will be more widely accepted than the virtual visa ones I picked up at the previous "10%" off deals at giftcards.com.
