may the blessed gods of refrigeration be with you
I read all about Samsungs and decided against it.

went with LG, its whisper quiet and 4 year warranty from costco w costco cc and 10 years on parts/labor on compressor seems fair enough for me.
You will find out the 10 year compressor warranty to be worthless when labor and other non warranty parts needed total $1500. It does NOT cover labor.

I just googled, the linear compressor is 300 dollars. and labor is 300-600 which is right along what I was quoted in my previous fridge.

no other part should wear other than gaskets, which we can do ourselves.

Nope, if you do more research you'll find you'll end up replacing most of the sealed system 5+ years down the line, so the repair typically costs $1000 to $1500 even with a free compressor from LG. There's plenty of documented cases on the internet. This is assuming you can even find someone to fix it, most won't since it'll break a year after that anyways and you'll blame the repairman so they just don't touch LG.

oh well. I guess I will plan on a new fridge every 10 years. fingers crossed. the whirlpool was 14 years old. I just didnt like that fridge so I let it go. watch it be a relay. I didnt even check, didnt care too

I dont understand that mentality of last part of your comment. "find someone who will fix it since its just break again" why would they NOT fix it? I would fix stuff over and over if it meant I could keep coming back for guaranteed work.

meh. fortunately the company near me has like a thousand 5 star reviews. pretty good reputation, had friends deal w them and I would too if ever needed. I called them before I bought fridge and they said they service LG no problem, but he said if I can afford it, buy kithcneaid. he said they use the best materials by far, thick juicy wire and steel etc.

I checked KA out, and I did not like the styles of fridge, so went to the LG at costco.

Costco's website only shows a 2 year warranty.

yes. costco CC doubles appliance warranty. if you dont have costco Citi visa, you dont get it.

I posted the info earlier

this is common knowledge.

You either can't read or you were misled. One year part and labor. Compressor is 10 ten years, but you will be to pay for the labor and service call fee. Compressor cost around 450 and service call is $150 if out of warranty. I know cuz I just did it. Do not buy LG

dude. 4 years is from costco.
year 5 labor and compressor LG

6-10 labor for compressor is on your dime
10 years for compressor parts is all on LG

this is assuming you bought it from Costco with costco CC. if you buy without a CC, then 2 years from costco, and if you buy it from ANYWHERE else. its 1 year. you are correct.

sometimes I dont even know why I reply, ive posted this info like 6 times in the thread.

If you know how to repair, it may run forever. I have one for 20 years. Replaced the fan and the thermostat.

if you get it from costco with costco CC. you get 4 years of warranty from Costco on ANY appliance. then its whatever mfr has going for it. LG has 10 years on linear compressor in parts, it covers the labor up to year 5 of compressor, 6-10 labor for compressor is on your own dime.

imo, thats perfectly fair. idk. im a guy if I like something I will prob just pay to fix it unless it has other issues along with it at that point
