It's nice to see gaming laptops with this GPU finally drop down in price to where they should have been from the start.

You asked for it. And they cut all the corners they could! 8gb a ram is odd and only 1080p 15" screen so you'd want a monitor and need a cooler
Cooler? I just bought one and am looking at upgrading the ram already

At least the ram isn't soldered, the rest is typical for this price range.

Mine as well be if it's single channel lol. So you can only upgrade to... biger single channel?

Edit: and oh yeah I want to say if this was $685 a decade ago with comparable tech from then I would have just about fainted. This is very cheap

Yeah for a laptop. These types of devices typically run hot and this isn't any exception. Search the reviews for it you'll see

As for the upgrade see above. I am not sure it will be that worth it for just gaming but depends on what it costs
Purchased this last year with the AMEX $120 back so very close to this price. I upgraded the ram to 32gb but honestly 16gb would have been sufficient. It does heat up when you turn on the highest performance mode using the NVIDIA card but I purchased a laptop fan from Amazon that I keep it on so I don't have any problems. I love this laptop and was able to purchase another laptop with 11th gen I7 yet iris graphics for my wife for school. Both if these together for less than $1500 was a sweet spot for me. I'm not a huge gamer but I use Xbox game pass for my son and I and play Halo Infinite, Madden, and a few other games perfectly fine.

Besides PCIe Gen 3 vs 4, what else is different between 10th and 11th gen?

How much better is the graphics performance on this one than on your wife's 11th gen i7 Iris? Night and day? Or not much?

This is the best place to compare any notebook graphics cards, and decent for desktops too (Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart is BEST for desktop). https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mob...844.0.html

Night and day.

Nice. My son would flip out if I could buy him one. Sadly we could never afford it being all disabled
There's plenty of amazing gaming to be had on the cheap. I got my current HP "gaming" laptop for $450 mid-mining craze. It's a 1650 Ti and can run everything, albeit some of it only on medium settings. Then you can fill a gaming library on Epic giveaways and Steam sales. Not bad for a work machine. You can find deals in that range if you wait for them.
EDIT: I think mine has a normal 1650.

Good deal on the 11th Gen processor for $50 more, picked one up. RAM is an easy upgrade, other specs look great. Thanks OP!
