Ya'll have been good to me helping me build up my Milwaukee collection, I wanted to pass on the help. I just found this 2631-21H kit on clearance at Home Depot. Like usual with Home Depot's clearance, your mileage may vary. I could not find the item on Brickseek or I'd share the link as well.

Kit includes the brushless 7-1/4" circular saw, XC5.0, standard M12/M18 charger, and Milwaukee "contractor bag".

My opinion is that if you're going to buy a higher end brand you might as well buy the premium version of their tools....just my 2 cents

The motor on this saw is EXACTLY same one that is used on M18 fuel 7 1/4" first generation so you are getting "premium" although the gen 2 does have different design that includes larger motor and thicker copper wires so it should be more powerful than 1st gen.

Leftover motors from a generation of tool that they just replaced? That sounds enticing laugh out loud

Not sure if leftovers since the saw came out in the market while fuel 1st gen was still sold but if main reason they switched to more powerful because it was improved based on previous gen faults/weaknesses then I won't care much. 2nd gen saw is heavier though because of "beefier"motor so personally I didn't like it.

For those uncomfortable with buying the previous generation of tech in their power tools, just ignore anything that says Home Depot clearance. Lol.

I totally get the principle though - Especially for those who are hard-core about this stuff. I'm upgrading from a 30 year old Black & Decker. Lol.

If any of you guys ride bike, do some research on bicycle group sets. More than likely, the bike you just purchased brand new for thousands of dollars has a two or three generation gap in tech from the highest end sold by the same manufacturer. This is a very common practice with a lot of manufacturers like Shimano. If I can handle riding on a Tiagra group set, I think I'll be fine with the second to last GEN of circular saw from Milwaukee. May it live as long as the OG Black and Decker 🤣

But really, debate aside I hope someone finds this deal helpful.

I'm not sure if this is a situation local to me but the kit that has been in the stores has a 4.0 battery not a 5.0. It seems like that listing disappeared off of Home Depot's website.

Wasn't the blade on left side instead for fuel version?

AFAIK out of M18s I think only regular 6 1/2" and M18 fuel rear handle saw has it on the left side, for both generations of regular fuel they're on the right as well as this "brushless" version which is same as gen1 saw.
