Does it have a gasket?
I went with this item for $13 in store. It has a gasket and is larger: https://www.target.com/p/sterilit...nk=sametab

The Plano material is thicker, but that's not important for my use. It's remained water proof over a year bungee corded in my truck bed.

True about the hinge, and it doesnt stay up, so you have to push it back, and that is when it snaps . It does snap back with some alignment, But I got it for ~$17 a year ago.

Mine has wheels, and a loop for a rope to roll. It is not a smooth roll by any means, but does make it easier to tug into place. Right, no gasket, and it is a bit flimsy compared to the Husky box which is much sturdier with polycarbonate clear top with nice all direction lock hinges. But, those are a little more than this, and more squarish than narrow and long. I use this for camping, and it has held up a few road trips so far. Just that over time, those hinges are super annoying, and with use may have issues later on.
Where did you get the wheel version? Also, that one is 108qt and you got for $17?

I see availability at a nearby store, just not the closest ones to me. Definitely still valid but not everywhere.

I have two of these I bought years ago, it holds spare car parts, and use to hold my bike stuff. Super sturdy, survived moves and being tossed around with heavy parts. If I had a need I would buy again.

I have the versioon with wheels**

Does the plastic on these Plano totes stink? I looked at some other plastic totes and tool boxes at Home Depot the other day, and they smelled awful. Some folks buying these must have non-functioning noses, lol.

Aren't these a better deal? It's supposedly more heavy duty, has no hinges and a removable lid, and it's only $2 more ($26.98 at my local store). Reviews are much better also.

I was surrounded by a fresh stock of them when I picked up three on sale the other month for an abrupt trip and personally didn't notice anything (they were also behind my driver's seat for about 14 hours right after that.)

As far as quality...I guess Ive only ever thought of Plano with regards to their ammo boxes, and expected too much. That said they've got their place.

All in all I feel like these are a decent buy for general purpose storage, but decided to throw my own gasketing into the lids for a little extra piece of mind while they're in storage (~$10 each of materials I already had.) Even with that added on cost the cost worked out to be lower than any other options nearby.

As far as durability goes, they can be tossed around a little bit, but I'd go easy and even at under 160lbs, wouldn't make a habit of trying to use them as a seat.

If you do pick them up, make sure the latches are all their because they tend to pop off incredibly easily with a little snack upwards.

Agh meant to add in my other reply, I grabbed the model you just posted and would recommend the same due to the flimsiness of the hinges.

No but I put screen door self-adhesive weather stripping in mine and it works great for $4 each. I have a half dozen of these of various different colors, I store charcoal, smoke chips, etc. in mine on the patio and they hold up well outdoors.
