Eh. Not bad, but they're just dimmable. No temperature or color change. Just keep that in mind.

The first week you get them:
Day 1:
"These are so cool! Look everyone..."hey Google, make the living room red". Okay, make it army green. Whoa!"

Day 2:
"hey Google, turn the living lights to relax at 40%"

Day 3:
"hey Google, turn on the lights."

Day 4:
[Presses 'power on' button on switch when entering the room]

We have been using the dimmable+ on/off for lights and ceiling fans for more than 4 yrs pretty much everyday. They are very useful.

Speak for yourself. My foyer looks like a Hawaiian sunset every night and it brings me great joy.

Of course, with the cost of hue overall, I probably could retire in Hawaii instead of buying more hue stuff...

Why would anyone do this?
1) they have cheap bulbs with built in sensors.
2) the hue smart bulbs are even better and have scheduling. so you can easily start 1 hour before sunset and turn off midnight or leave it on till dawn.
this is not interior so voice control is pointless... just seems like a nonsensical product.

I'm glad to hear it. I was mostly poking fun at myself. I went crazy early on. Even all of my under cabinet and toe kick lighting is Hue controlled RGBWW. I just found that after the initial novelty of it all, we settled into a white light 99% of the time. The 1% is when we have visitors and show off the "capabilities" to reinforce our purchasing decision.

The good thing about the hue ecosystem is that everything is calibrated to everything else in color temperature and brightness level.

It's a motion sensor to turn on lights in or outside house when you pull into your driveway, approach your front door, etc. essentially a hands free light switch when arriving home, or security cam to provide illusion of being home.

I agree, I only use the color when I have guest over, especially during the holidays it's nice but honestly overpriced.

Anyone have experience with their "factory restored" stuff? I've seen good things and band things about them.

Typically a company that factory reconditions their own products will at a minimum guarantee/warranty them for at least a year or so. I asked hue support today and got an unequivocal "we offer absolutely no warranty whatsoever on factory restored item." which I followed up on, and that even includes factory restored items they not only restore themselves but sell on their own website! Like... say you order a factory restored item from them and for whatever reason/circumstance it shows up dead on arrival... congratulations you just spent a decent chunk of change on a brick. And better yet, who would know if it was ever even actually factory restored in the first place in that scenario...

That seems a bit red flaggy to me... but idk. I've had less than stellar customer service support from hue with products that are new and in warranty... so it's got me real reticent now. I made a decently sized purchase yesterday of 6 or 7 items, but now I'm questioning just returning to sender all of it when they get here (except for the floodlight, which was the only "new" product in the bunch. I'll keep that.)... 90 days from woot doesn't make me feel confident, and after hearing directly from Hue that they give absolutely no warranty or support for them whatsoever, it makes it seems like woot only offers that short warranty because the would HAVE to if they wanted to actually sell them at all...

Haha, I get it. It's an easy rabbit hole to get sucked into. Cheers

Copy and pasted my use case from another thread.

I have these with hue ambiance lights outside and have it set so they turn to a slightly above nightlight scene during sunset, motion triggers bright 6000k white light then dims gradually back down to 3000k dimmed after 1 minute. This has been very helpful with my eufy battery security cameras to trigger the motion detection and start recording. These hue outdoor motion sensors are fantastic at detecting motion from a very far distance. Ive had mine for about 3 years now and its still on the original battery working perfectly fine.
