This deal looks similar to the recent S21 unlocked deal from BestBuy with T-Mobile activation. I had snagged the S21 deal for $400 but my S21 died with no power the same week, and had to return it. I was waiting for something similar but looks like this is the next best deal. I will be heading to BestBuy soon to get this using the gift card from my S21 return.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sams...Id=6465019

FYI, instructions for those who are not aware:
  • Select UNLOCKED S21 FE for $499.99 (ACTIVATE TODAY) option.
  • Select T-Mobile - Starting at $399.99 option.
  • For extra savings, feel free to select trade in option
  • Make sure you get and note the new phone number if you are getting a new account/line with T-Mobile. you will need this number to later call T-Mobile to cancel the service.
  • Once you have the phone, call T-mobile to cancel the service. This might take a while, as they might probably bounce you around bunch of different departments. they may need to activate the service to be able to cancel it. Second option would be to port it out if you manage to get the account number+pin.
  • The phone you receive should be an unlocked phone. Feel free to insert SIM from a different network.

Pixel 3A trade in value was $180 a month ago. Now it is $30.

I am hoping there will be a $399 S21 deal again after S22 release.

links to prove your point? show me the repost and its repost, or else stop sprouting nonsense. btw, I searched SD before posting, and I couldn't find S21 FE for $399.99. The only other deal close to this one I found was for $499.99.

I don't think the trade in value has gone down. Trade in value for Pixel 3A is still $180, but only for T-Mobile version, and not for Unlocked version.

For unlocked version, yes. But, if you go with the carrier version it's still more.

So if you sign up as a new subscriber, and then call T Mobile to cancel that same day after you pick up the phone, do you owe T Mobile a month's payment? If not, how much do you end up paying to T Mobile for the one day of service?

A number of SD's did this before XMas on the S21 T-mobile deal for $399. The key is to NOT activate the phone SIM. Then it becomes super easy to cancel and no charges.

I did see a post or two of someone who had it activated by a BB employee, and I think in that case it falls under the buyer-remorse category, and there was no charge so long as it wasn't used (just activated).

Will the phone be locked to T-mobile sim only?

I ran into the same issue (likely reason - I had previously created a new account while purchasing S21 and had later returned the phone and cancelled the service). That's a very silly and misleading error message BestBuy devs need to fix. Per some previous thread, the only way to purchase the phone in this case would be to go to a local BestBuy store and they should be able to override and help you set up everything. I'm doing the same thing this weekend.

I was getting this message because I had one of the 3 credit agencies have credit freeze that I forgot about. Any chance your credit is frozen / locked?
