That's true. Takes Fallout 76 and CyberPunk especially for examples that weren't 100% ready. Halo Infinite was in the similar spot EXCEPT the developer wanted to delay further. You make a good point.
But then there are certain games out there that doesn't justify the value of waiting for a measly discount especially by Nintendo. I don't get why it is so smart for some users here to say out loud here ie "Im gonna wait years to save $(insert amount)" because it too expensive, not my cup of tea, and such. With that kind of logic, it overshadows what they really like/want out of the game.
I mean come on, why wait for $10 discount if you know you for example like Pokemon and the recent release is well perceived to appreciate. I argue it more of a consumer behavior problem such as FOMO or have giant backlog of unplayed brand new sealed unopen games; not Nintendo's reluctant to stay at $60 for months.
It's All comes down to be really be honest to him/herself.
Not gonna lie, I enjoy debating this topic with you!

Lol. Well I'd say that obviously, no strategy is suited to all situations, even waiting. I'll point out, though, that citing Nintendo games as an example of why waiting isn't worth it is outside the normal for the industry, for two main reasons: first, Nintendo pretty much never ships games that are broken out of the box; second, Nintendo games rarely get large price cuts because they tend to release games at a very high quality bar, so they're usually worth the asking price on day one, standing head and shoulders above competition in the genre. Breath of the wild is a perfect example.
Walmart already put some PS5 games on clearance like the Nioh Collection and The Pathless.
