Ken Burns does fabulous work. Id highly recommend anything from him including any of these documentaries. He has so many great works that it's hard to say which is my favorite but offhand, I lean towards the Vietnam series.

FYI - some of Ken Burns' titles are only available in SD and not HD on Vudu. The War is in SD.

Just an FYI that Hoopla has a lot of these for free to rent. You can only rent 4 episodes per month, but for something you may only watch once it's a good option to consider

Mine is baseball. You cannot go wrong with any of his work. I prefer physical but will buy these in digital.

Don't forget, you can get 15% off $50+ Vudu gift cards with code HOMEJUNE24. Might as well stack for even more savings.

Personally, I'm picking up Ken Burns Baseball. I've heard it's great!

Anyone know what the normal sale price of these are? I have a could on DVD and wouldn't mind HD, but are these some digit "steals" or prices we see on a fairly regular basis?

Baseball has never gone below $56 on iTunes, and that may only be SD.

Historically, VUDU hasn't dropped down from $79.99 (!) since 2022. DEFINITELY a steal.

If you buy the individual episodes on Amazon Prime, you'd pay roughly around $33, but it depends where you prefer your library. Still definitely a deal here, though.

Note that some of the episodes for Baseball are available through PBS, and there are 7-day trials available.

Agreed about his work, I loved the National Parks series.

I tried a couple times to purchase the discounted gift card but kept getting this error...

Maybe try a different payment method? I was able to complete my purchase just over an hour ago.

Just an FYI to folks, most everything is available to PBS subscribers. I haven't checked in a bit because LG doesn't seem to have the PBS app available but last I had, Ken had a huge selection available. You obviously won't own anything this way but it is a ton cheaper and PBS is a great cause to support.

Good point, and a pretty big bummer for this kind of program. Anyone know if Vudu has ever provided upgrades for TV?

I liked it too. It was calm and beautiful, but VUDU only has it in SD which seems criminal. Maybe buy it and hope you get a free HD upgrade? Probably not, but a few HD purchases I made got bumped to UHD over time.

History repeats and Ken Burns Docs are a great representation of that. Civil war and WW2 were solid.

They most definitely do not provide free upgrades for TV. If they ever offer the SD only shows in HD, you would be required to re-purchase it in HD in order to upgrade.
