Naw, mane. Kurt Cobain took his own life because he had some very serious and professionally untreated mental illneses that were significantly exacerbated by self-medication through illicit drug use. I get where you're coming from with Cobain's frustration on becoming, in his words, "a corporate rock whore", but to say that pressures of selling out and his band's t-shirts being sold in Walmart was a deciding factor in his decision of suicide is probably just as accurate as saying that having to deal with that crazy bat Courtney Love was a root cause. Although both of those things may have been contributing factors, neither was the ultimate reason, and he knew, to a degree, what he was getting into with both.

To bring this conversation, the deal, and your username full-circle, I had a chance to meet Courtney Love in Memphis at Consignment Music store on Park Ave. in 1996 when she was in town filming "The People vs. Larry Flynt." I had just turned 13, and music, particularly alternative rock, was my life. My friend (whose mom was dating the owner of the music store) wore a Hole t-shirt and I wore the original Flower Sniffin' Nirvana t-shirt that is the inspiration of the Smiley Face Nirvana t-shirt now most commonly sold at Walmart et al., just like the one in this post. When we first walked in, Courtney Love looked at my friend's shirt and said "thank you for supporting my band" with a smile. Then she looked at me, her demeanor quickly changed to visibly annoyed, and she said "that's not my band." Lol, good times.

Keep it Memphis as F**k, my mane.

Thanks, OP. In for a few Nirvana and Pink Floyd sets for my future flower sniffin', kitty pettin', baby kissin' corporate rock whores.

Either way, the school can suck it. Nothing offensive, graphic or vulgar.

I just bought the Kiss set for my kid. I'm either getting a high five or a call from the office.

I'm so glad this wasn't a thing when I was at school, I'd get my ass kicked in my ABBA shirt

Kurt Cobain took his own life because of the pressures of not wanting to sell out... So now they sell Nirvana shirts for little kids at Walmart and Target. Still tempted to buy these for my six year old to show how cool I am for the bands I listened to.

KISS is just soft rock with dudes wearing some lipstick, relax, nothing offensive, the members are actually extremely conservative.

This isn't 1976 anymore. Most kids are wearing Five Nights at Freddy's shirts to school
