I find this to be way too expensive for an LED strip.

And yet people still get it. It really depends on your preferences. I have invested into the Hue system over the years and they are well worth it in my opinion.

On a hardware level, definitely. The value proposition with Hue products though is more about the software, ecosystem, and wide compatibility and ease of integration with other smart home/home automation systems. Not saying it's a good value, just that the value equation is different.

Ok so I have the Hue Bridge for my A19 bulbs. Will this work with it or is it just Bluetooth and Zigbee only?

I've done both hue and a long run of DIY light strips, def a big quality difference.

Are they overpriced? Yes, but they also last way longer. My DIY setup started to have issues within a year.

Your hue bridge will control this lightstrip just fine. Certain features aren't available if you have an older, round shaped hue bridge.

They aren't rated for outdoor use. They do have outdoor strips , more expensive than this.

They are, but in some use cases they are the better option. I tested them against a lot of the cheaper strip lights (Govee, etc), and they are much brighter. If you need undercabinet lights that provide more than just "ambient" lighting, these are a great option.

I like the idea of LED lights and I have some (Govee), but every time I see the pictures they use for marketing with them I can't help but think how stupid it looks. Like they have 18 separate shelves all with their own backlight and no visible cords... so what they spent $1k on all the separate LED strips and ran all the wires through the drywall, and presumably there's a pile of like 4 power strips daisy chained and full of LED inverters.... come on.
