Agreed. If Zuckers is convenient I'll totally go for it, but Ess-a-bagel is two blocks from my apartment so it's a no brainer. As for freezing and reheating, the best method is one I learned from J. Kenji Lopez-Alt: Preheat oven to 375 or so, then run the frozen bagel under running water. Shake off the excess, place the WHOLE, UNCUT bagel in the oven for 5-10 minutes. Should come out perfect every time and is my favorite way to defrost frozen bagels now.

Yikes! Check out the yelp reviews for any of the Zuckers in NYC. Not good. Was going to order until I saw the overwhelming avalanche of poor reviews, including B health scores, hairs in the bagels, burnt bagels, bad bagels, poor customer service etc etc.

I went to an event once that gave out $50 off $50 goldbelly coupons. I got like 10 coupons at the event. It was awesome and I dream of getting something like that again.

Fun Fact - pies and chocolate hold up the best when ordered through goldbelly. Cookies and cupcakes held up the worst.

Dunno, gunna find out though Smilie Hubby says a bagel shop bagel in our area runs about $2-$3. Not sure if he is right but, figure I can freeze these. Grocery stores and Costco probably run pretty low, but then they wouldnt be NY bagels to the door. Here is their webpage [zuckersbagels.com].

Don't know what Zucker's is like now, but it was my local until I left NYC in 2010. Loved their bagels, lox and bagel sandwiches, and whitefish salad.

I am a new customer, but guest checkout worked for me. Do you know if it would work for existing customers that way?

Pic of my order [imgur.com]. Came in 2 really nice huge ziplock bags, and the onion was individually wrapped and did not leave the pumpernickel (in the same bag) with an onion flavor. I am happy Smilie

Imo reviews for any site all need to be taken with a grain of salt. I have left like 3 reviews on Yelp, and they hid the one where I had the bad experience.

But here is a pic of my order [imgur.com]. Really happy. Hubby loved the onion, the pumpernickel were good but not *quite* as flavorful as some local pumpernickel I have had. They will definitely get eaten though Smilie Haven't tried the other 2 flavors yet. Very clean, nicely packed. Seemed fresh as well.

I would have loved to try the smoked fish but I am too cheap!

I tried it on a few things in the sales category but they were excluded. Those items tend to be noted in the cart as excluded. So only way to find out is trial/error Frown

psa, fresh bagels do not keep as well as commercial bagels
so if you can't eat them within days, you could freeze them.
when you defrost and toast frozen bagels, best dab some
water on them before toasting for best results.

All of that could be said about most bagel places in NYC. B health score could mean the fridge is too close to the oven. Who cares? Hairs in the bagel? That's not great, but not a huge deal either. Burnt? That's just poor training. Poor customer service? You can find that everywhere.

Having had Zucker's bagels a few times I can say they have been pretty good. Great? No, but pretty good. Will they taste good by the time they get to you? Who can say...

New Yorker here. Zuckers have become a bit of a chain here in the city. They produce a fine hand rolled bagel, which believe it or not is harder and harder to come by these days. Long story short, if outside the NYC metro area, I would eat this up. You know what they say about NYC bagels! (Regardless of yelp reviews, all those things make NY food taste 'better'!)
