Samsung deals can be really great, but this is not. Don't buy now, the prices have been in flux since the last few days and this is one of the higher prices. Keep a lookout there may be an irresistible deal coming soon with the launch event around the corner.

Do you have a firm grasp on computers? For starters, 8GB vs 16GB will not have a significant impact on benchmark scores.. that's not how ram works.

Secondly, you're using geekbench? That's a ARM based benchmark suite, it's not reliable to compare ARM vs x86 on there.

Secondly, for a cinebench run the laptop is boosting wattage/clockspeeds. I just told you the M1 air literally only sustains 10 watts and reaches 95 Celsius under heavy load due to no fan.. these benchmarks are sprints, not workloads.

You said, "8gb ram in m1 machines is better then 16gb windows machines"

Did you deduct that because of the benchmark scores? I assume you did because you believe their impact is see in benchmarks due to you saying "and this is 8gb m1 vs 16gb swift X" that's not how that works dude..

8gb ram is far more limiting then 16gb and isn't future proofed at all. I know because I own a 8GB m1 MBP, it's equivalent to maybe 10gb on windows, as they handle ram differently.

Re-evaluate your stuff

If I remember correctly the 360 does better than the normal pro, it is a bit heavier. In quest to make these laptops extremely light, especially normal pro some build quality has been sacrificed, i.e. you could click the touchpad from the back side.

Honestly I would much prefer a Ryzen, Intel 12 gen is faster but isn't all that energy efficient and in this kind of laptop battery life matters more than performance (probably any CPU from the last couple of years is just fine)

In addition to the clicky touchpad from the back side, the touch screen technology used presents a slightly visible 'screen door' look to the screen, hard to describe, but you can tell that you aren't directly looking at the pixels, rather through the touch screen layer.

Other than that, I love the build quality of the laptop. It can hold a second nvme, I added an SK Hynix P31 and made it the primary boot drive. Works great! I dual boot linux on it. Everything works in linux except the fingerprint scanner.

Don't expect it to play games of course, but it's quite responsive for normal home/office tasks.

The build quality is outstanding on these. Has a premium feel very similar quality to their flagship phones. There is such a noticeable difference in how much lighter this laptop was to any other ultra book in the store. The screen hinge seems really strong but wish it was a little stiffer because when you go to touch the touch screen it will sometimes accidentally tilt the screen back. The keyboard is a bit shallow to type on but that's unavoidable considering how razor thin and light this laptop is. The key spacing is good and comfortable to type on with very little noise. The track pad is really big, responsive, and nice to use and the S-pen has a little give to it to give the illusion you're writing on paper instead of the screen. By far the best pen experience I've ever had on a laptop. For how fast this laptop is, I was amazed how it never seems to overheat. The speakers aren't as loud as many other laptops but again I think that has to do with how thin it is, but the free earbuds make that a non-issue because they are pretty great in terms of sound quality.

Man, hard sell for samsung when the M1 macbook is destroying these with little effort. 99% of users would find the macbook air to be fastest.

Agree with all your points. Build quality is very good. The laptop is very thin. I worry about screen cracks if it bumps anything its that thin. Speakers are not great but just ok. How about on a cold day putting this laptop on your lap when its ice cold because the metal EEK!

At this late time, that is a wise decision if you don't NEED to purchase right away.

It, of course, will be spendy but it seems it will deliver on performance.
