In case anyone was wondering, the SSD is swapable in less than 30 mins. So spending 799 on the 512 model then adding a $100 SSD would save a bit.

Honestly I would much prefer a Ryzen, Intel 12 gen is faster but isn't all that energy efficient and in this kind of laptop battery life matters more than performance (probably any CPU from the last couple of years is just fine)
Get a LG Gram then.

Man, hard sell for samsung when the M1 macbook is destroying these with little effort. 99% of users would find the macbook air to be fastest.
"to be fastest"

What with 8GB ram? No thanks, I own one with 8GB ram and 256GB..

What does fastest matter when we're talking about web browsing and office tasks, where there's no difference but negligible, who cares? Discord runs like shit btw because it's not M1 optimized.

If you are doing heavy workloads on a MacBook air, you're not getting the best performance. 10 watts sustained performance means you're performing below a 5800U easily found in something like a Swift X MSRP.

A LG Gram or this galaxy book don't make much sense for performance with anemic cooling systems

More efficient Ryzen 6000 makes more sense..

The 8gb of ram in the M1 machines is still better than 16gb in windows machines.

In nearly all benchmarks, this destroys any machine (Including the swift x (5800u and 3050ti) with 16gb vs 8gb m1)

Thats not factoring in the better battery, display, build quality, and keyboard. Not a fanboy of apple, hated and still hate their business practices, but they are defining chip tech.
Do you have a firm grasp on computers? For starters, 8GB vs 16GB will not have a significant impact on benchmark scores.. that's not how ram works.

Secondly, you're using geekbench? That's a ARM based benchmark suite, it's not reliable to compare ARM vs x86 on there.

Secondly, for a cinebench run the laptop is boosting wattage/clockspeeds. I just told you the M1 air literally only sustains 10 watts and reaches 95 Celsius under heavy load due to no fan.. these benchmarks are sprints, not workloads.

You said, "8gb ram in m1 machines is better then 16gb windows machines"

Did you deduct that because of the benchmark scores? I assume you did because you believe their impact is see in benchmarks due to you saying "and this is 8gb m1 vs 16gb swift X" that's not how that works dude..

8gb ram is far more limiting then 16gb and isn't future proofed at all. I know because I own a 8GB m1 MBP, it's equivalent to maybe 10gb on windows, as they handle ram differently.

Re-evaluate your stuff

Their 1000 year reich in chip leadership looks to be under assault fairly quickly. Sure, they generally lead in battery life but that isnt the top priority for a good amount of people, especially since the advent of usb-c charging means a top up is always easy to find.

This is touchscreen and can flip for use like a tablet. Performance is not everything.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 is junk compared the to previous Galaxy Book Flex with QLED screen.
Go with the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex alpha2 (if you are set on a Samsung laptop) instead since it still has the QLED screen.

Visit reddit r/Galaxybook, the 360 is very problematic and build quality is not great. Samsung also removed features from 360 that were on the Flex to cut cost.

The 360 has major flex around the trackpad and the Amoled screen on the 360 is dim for its high price. I can't even list all its problems.
Just read the reddit thread, its filled with pissed users. Luckily I kept my Galaxy book flex 15.6 and sent the 360 back.

Samsung has a forum (Samsung Members Community / us.community.samsung.com), but now they delete threads who criticize their products.
