Cmon you can't compare contract plans from like 10 years ago to now. Everything is different, plus there's inflation. Was your internet as fast as it is now? Maybe you don't care but others do. Plus phones are a lot more expensive now (because the technology is much better).
I call BS on them being expensive because of just the technology. The profit margin for these phones for Samsung are pretty dang good otherwise you wouldn't see them making them half off or B1G1 50% off or free 6 months down the road like they normally do. Even when they discount them 6 months down the road you better bet Samsung is still making a killing on the phones. Yes technology is better and that does add to the cost but not that much. They are marking these premium phones up 100% or more when selling them.

I made the switch from SC na to magenta max. I went from paying 130 to 134 with insider hookup. Then I added bogo and the bill will actually lowered to 128.The Netflix alone is worth the switch. These mm only deals seals the deal.
I looked at Magenta Max for me or since I'm still on Sprint billing they call it Sprint Max but it's the same plan with the exception of us getting Hulu vs Netflix. To go to Sprint Max it would cost me $15 more a month total on my 3 paid lines and that is assuming the $5 per paid line Sprint works (benefit for working for certain employers) carried over to the Max plan.

I have been a tmo customer for well over a decade. I am not on magenta max, and since I'm on a military plan, I can't change it through the website either. It looks like I'll have to head to a store to do anything near $1000 to change plan and phone. Thanks for the response.
Just call 611. I had the exact same problem and they got my pre-order with 2 s20 ultras 1000 each trade-in

Oh I totally know that but I'm not one that had a problem with two-year contracts back in the day either. I have to get cell service from someone and as long as I'm happy with the price and the coverage area I'm okay with locking myself into 24 months with a carrier.

My issue now is when I used to sign contracts for reduced cost high quality phones, I could keep my old phone and then sell that to recoup some of the cost of the subsidized phone price which generally was $100 or $200. Now I'm having to turn in a phone I could sell for probably $500 to get $1,000 worth of credit. That is some straight up BS because even though they said they would reduce prices of service when contracts went away they never really went down enough to make it even to when There were contracts and you were getting an extremely reduced price phone without trade in.
So you're moving the goal posts now. Your post that I replied to you said Samsung's deal sucked compared to TM. I explained why (and you seem to agree). Now, you're just complaining that the trade-in scheme, which is how AT&T and others do it also, you don't think is fair? Me neither. Hand over a phone worth $500 and get nothing up front for it. But like you said, if you're happy, you're going to stay. I'll take $1000 for a $500 phone any day.

The t-mobile site is now as wonky as the Samsung website is. What's going on?? Has anyone confirmed what OP has posted?

Am I the only one who thinks these trade-in values for some of the mid-range or older phones are fantastic??

This seems like a great deal to me. I get 1000 for my note 10 plus 5g in bill credits over two years. I will end up paying 200 dollars for a new s22 ultra.

I get to the step where you input your device with imei, then the next step has a trade in this device. When I click this magenta box, nothing happens. Guess I will have to call in.

I want John Legere back, the new management sucks. I'm not leaving my Simple Choice plan. These are some of the shenanigans that Verizon used to play and the reason I left them for T-Mobile
Just like the new mcdonalds ceo, probably got a million dollar bonus for killing all day breakfast and shilling the mc gang bing menu

I think the issue with the trade-in thing is to get the deal you have to go to your existing lines/phone and click upgrade from there or at least that is how I did it on sprint.com since I am still on their billing and not t-mobile yet. Is there not some way to click upgrade on your existing line on tmobile.com instead of going to the new phone and clicking to buy it from there?

Thanks for the Post OP. I was able to upgrade my phone and my wife's phone without any issue. I am Sprint Customer who moved to TMO post-merger, I am not in Magenta Max plan, still system allowed to upgrade without any hassle. I got $800 off for S10 and $400 off for my wife's S9+. Yeah the 24 month contract sucks, but I am still okay with it, as I do not see any other full-service carrier offering me the plan prices like Sprint/TMO.

Yeah, I can do that but the problem is they have my Note 8 listed as a Note 5 on the web page. Need to call in any way to get that straight. They are going to get a really nice Note 8.

Oh my Note 10+ is in pristine condition with not a scratch on it. I could easily sell it for $500+ probably but if they are offering me $1K for it I'll take it. My wife shattered the glass on the back of her Note 10+ and I'll have to get that replaced for $100 before I turn hers in.

I really don't know why Samsung insist on putting glass on the back of a device. It's stupid.
