Please don't do this to your records. These will scrape the vinyl away as they play. These cheapies use way too much down force on the stylus and trash records. Like 9 grams vs a good turntable that runs about 2 grams.

I just updated my post. It is the tracking force. These run around 9 grams vs a good turntable that runs about 2 grams. Destroys records. The AT-LP60 is a good starter turntable.

Hey it's your records. They are not cheap, but if you want to trash them you are welcome to. I am just warning folks who might have a good collection and want to get back into vinyl. Spending a little more is much safer for your records.

Yes, but then dedicated speakers and amplifier are also needed. I collect vinyl and would not hesitate to play used 'cheap' records on this Victrola... Not my $25+ records, but those from a dollar bin etc, c'mon, this player is fine for them, they are already scratched up, lol.

TIL a $200 turntable is better than a $50 walmart special. Next you'll tell us not to use an electric knife sharpener on our Shun knives...

these are good for decoration/toys. these are NOT good for your vinyl collection.

if you're looking for a baseline record player with proper platter and better stylus/tone arm (as well as bluetooth OUT), there's the Insignia from Best Buy. The Audio-Technica's are better than the Insignia, but do cost a bit more.

for playing records, this is like the "base model" - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insi...Id=6432620

eta: also be wary of "bluetooth turntables" - cheapass ones like OP technically are bluetooth, but probably not in the way you'd want or expect - they can RECEIVE a bluetooth stream and play it out of the worlds crappiest speakers that it contains, worse than your phone. it CANNOT stream your record playing to a higher fidelity sound system like you would expect from a record player that advertises bluetooth

Yes, no Bluetooth out, but it does have aux out, so you can hard wire this to a receiver and thus to any system you have. For $12 you could also get a Bluetooth transmitter and thus use this thing to transmit to anything you want. However it will degrade your records over time, but I would think anyone with a decent sized "collection" would know cheap players do that.

sample BT transmitter below.

FWIW, it seems there's a lack of consensus about whether these cheaper turntables really damage records. Search around online for further discussion. There are even stylus replacements out there that will reduce risk of record wear. I'd likely keep the top notch, new records away from a device like this - but for anything that has been well loved or picked up at flea markets/dollar bins, etc., there's likely no harm done.
