That being said, I appreciate your agreement about the subjectivity of the decision, the entire point of my note. I get the feeling you mostly game on PC anyways, which is largely driving your opinion on monitors vs TVs, and skewing your idea of what amounts to acceptable latency for the average gamer. We're talking the difference between input lag of 1ms versus MAYBE 10-15ms on most TVs with low latency modes, potentially even less at lower resolutions. The difference is frankly imperceptible to the normal eye, but is again made mostly moot by the slight delay that exists between wireless controllers and the PS5 anyways. Even professional PC gamers who will only play with wired peripherals with the lowest possible latency are unlikely to notice if their input lag increased by 7 milliseconds without being told.

I just bought a 32" Odyssey G7 Gaming Monitor LC32G75TQSNXZA for $506. If I hadn't, I would jump on this.

I play Xbox series x of course…1440p and it supports variable refresh rate so I'm playing games like dying light 2 at 120hz. It has different picture settings, standard, fps, sports, moba etc…have the refresh rate set to extreme and it doesn't cause any issues, many reviews also said it runs at extreme with no issues…I have no complaints and I would totally buy it again….
If you have series x for $300 this is a hell of gaming monitor that should last you years.
