I'm a tile guy and I will only use this kind of marker. The best thing about these has nothing to do with how they write. It's that the cap is hard with ridges so you can easily remove it with your teeth, compared to a sharpie which has a tapered, glossy, thin cap that is much harder to pull off with your teeth. When one hand is holding a tile already you only have one left to get your marker, so not having to use your other hand to remove a cap is a huge time saver. Simple, but true!
These do last longer than a sharpie for marking stone and concrete, but they do bleed a bit so take that into consideration when you are marking stonework.
I've never seen anyone else care about how well one's teeth can interact with a product. I love it

These are great for about anything, including non construction uses. I use them for disc golf discs and Tiger Woods famously uses them to mark his balls.
.
While these do dry out, they are sometimes thrown away because unlike a Sharpie, the user did not realize you need to press the tip down for more paint/ink that may or may not happen with normal usage.
We mostly use the silver and gold versions for dark metals, but for accuracy, prefer the ultra fine tip. At the moment, the closest HD is about 60 miles, so the deal here is the $3.48 delivered to your door with free returns. Over time, HD customer service has been great with any problems.

Black 4-pack[homedepot.com] is also $3.48. Numerous other quantity options at relatively appropriate prices. Need 360? They've got you covered. Free shipping for all but qty. 1.
I love these and grab a pack any time i'm running low. Way better than sharpies and ... TBH what Vimpeli said is spot on.
Getting the caps off sharpies one-handed is annoying. Not so with these.
This is a marker that someone actually gave thought to. Little stuff like the anti-roll bump you take for granted until someone hands you a sharpie on a job.
Claims to write well on dusty, oily, wet, or other surfaces where Sharpies would struggle. Has many good reviews, so I picked up a set.
Yeah, they work really well and never seem to dry out. Sharpies dry out very fast. Especially on stuff like cardboard. These pens are great for work and construction

I like paint sticks. Atleast that's what we call em. Works amazing to write on rusty/wet piling
