The problem is that "HDMI 2.1" is a near-useless specification. The current interpretation of "HDMI 2.1" for those us who play games on our TVs is supposed to mean 120 frames per second at 4k resolution. Too bad that's not the case-
We've seen this kind of nonsense before across all manner of interconnects. Unfortunately, the main takeaway is don't get caught up in marketing, and be sure to read the fine print.
They are comparing to xiomi the trash brand. Most ppl here arent stupid enough to buy that pos. We are talking about LG vs Sony vs Samsung decent brands.
Can the streaming credit be redeemed for Xbox.com gift cards/credit? I think I saw that in another thread.
I believe that's the $100 streaming credit offered with LG's. This is a $65 streaming credit with choices: Discovery+, Showtime, or HBO MAX... and for new subscribers.
Picture is probably better on the Sony but any Sony that doesn't use the XR processor cuts 4k resolution in half at 4k120fps. If you don't game get the Sony.
I will be using whatever TV I buy almost exclusively for Gaming - so I'm guessing I should pass on the x85j. I am still plaYing my Series X on my 2011 TV - so anything will be better probably.
But you're saying the Sony doesnt truly show 4k @ 120hz? This is all so confusing trying to compare all this stuff..

That's correct. If you aren't a multiplayer gamer you'll be fine but it's just a limitation of the x1 processor which that tv has. The Samsung does 4k120 no issue.

Thank you. Exclusively Multiplayer gaming. I probably shouldn't be doing it on a TV this size anyways but I'm a 33 year old dad. 😂
The sound on this model is weak. I have to turn up the volume above 50 often. Then there are moments where it's too loud for some scenes but then too low. Picture is great though.
I have very basic question. All these QLED tvs are they any better than my 4-5 years old samsung curve 4k LED when i watch youtube or netflix or amazon prime?
