I will preclude this statement with I went full on obsessive when researching this set and golf clubs in general.... I can post more info if anyone wishes

These are actually Callaway X2 Hot clubs that were originally released in 2014. Callaway re-released them with a new name and color scheme for exclusive sale at Costco. These clubs were initially released at Costco several years ago as "X2 Hot+" then 1-2yrs later as "Edge" with a green color scheme and since last year "edge" with a gold color scheme. You can find the matching X2 Hot 3/4/5/AW/LW irons online. This information has been confirmed directly from Callaway by several online sources plus I called Callaway myself when I was extensively researching these last year.

A few notes on this set:
- Its rare to find these in store and regular flex steel is the only option
- These sell out quickly online (re-sellers buy out the stock to flip them for insane prices)
- Last year costco was offering to select accounts $50 off $500 online purchase, usually if you chatted with customer support they would give you the coupon as well.
- Graphite is the same as regular flex except one is steel and the other is graphite shafts (my brother owns the steel and I own the graphite... we've done comparisons)
- this set DOES NOT come in senior flex or left handed options for graphite
- If for some reason you don't like any part of this set it is very easy to sell off the items you don't want
- The putter alone is worth $100+ brand new; it is an Odyssey White Hot Pro 2 in silver vs black (which was retail color)
- The driver/3 wood/hybrid are basic but are nice
- The irons and putter are great

EDIT: for the persons asking about extending shaft lengths... you can add on shaft extenders (options for both steel and graphite) and extend the shaft up to 2" maximum (not recommended to go beyond that). Look up some videos about "regripping golf clubs" and you would need some sandpaper, golf shaft epoxy, and basic skills to extend these yourself (look up some YouTube videos from the mobileclubmaker on building clubs to get an idea how to use epoxy).... for reference in 1yr I went from never playing golf to playing multiple times a week and building golf clubs from scratch for fun as well. I do have a higher level of mechanical ability (rebuild cars for fun) but honestly, it isn't hard. Its a fun hobby to get into

EDIT 2: LOFTS
Driver: 10.5°
3 Wood: 15°
5 Hybrid: 25°
6: 26°
7: 30°
8: 34.5°
9: 39°
PW: 44°
SW: 54°

EDIT 2.5: link to callaway x2 hot iron specs mens & womens (loft/length/lie/etc)…. Heads Identical to this set (different shaft specs)

As someone who has played thousands of rounds of golf, played in state and national tournaments in college, I have used these clubs and can say they're perfectly fine for any beginner, amateur, or value golfer who doesn't need to brag about getting ripped of in a pro shop.

These clubs vs a 3000 set won't make a measurable difference in the hands of 99% of golfers.

Get these, a fancy bag, a 52 wedge, and maybe change the grips, and you'll be fine for years to come.
Generally, between regular (steel) and stiff (steel), if you swing it faster than what may be considered an average male (In other words you're athletic and a quick swing), then go stiff.

Between graphite and steel, steel is generally heavier, provides more 'feel' when hitting the ball and more commonly used, graphite is lighter and absorbs more of the impact so it's preferred by older players.

I'm 35 and in decent shape, but my personal preference is graphite since I have bad wrists.

Slow swing speeds are better with graphite. Regular can be customized to your height/swing.

Doubtful. Buy online because the price is the same anyway. Do it quick because these sell out in a matter of minutes.

so the right handed stiff can be customized? i'm 6' and think I could use clubs that are a tad longer - what would that type of modification run for a set like this?

Im under the impression that Costco is not going to customize the length for you, and you would need to go to a golf store to increase the length. It would likely involve replacing the grip and adding a shaft extender, which would be about $10-15 per club in total.

If this is your first set of clubs, you may just want to play the standard length until you know your swing type; 6 feet is pretty close to standard.

Have you played before? If this is your starter set, then just get them stock length. I am 6'2" but have longer arms and standard length is fine for me (been playing off and on quite a while and am a 13 hcp currently). Could I go a little longer? Possibly but I learned on stock length and I've never had an issue with length or lie.

If you get used to it, it will make future clubs easy to buy. You can get used or anything off the shelf as long as the shaft flex is correct. Even then dont put too much into flex. You will gain far more in lessons vs. a custom fitting when starting out.

If you really want to check shaft lengths there are several online calculators and measurement instructions for wrist to floor. Once you have that you can check lie angle which you can also do easily with a driving range session and a Sharpie marker or dry erase marker.

My kid has this set and loves them. I've played them for fun and they're an excellent value!

This is a good starter set but irons only go up to 6. I love a 5 and 4. I know the 5 wood can probably replace the 4 iron but different ball flights for me.

I've taken maybe 5 lessons and played a few rounds but my current set cost $20 on Craigslist and is embarrassing to say the least.😬

Looking for a good value set I can really get some good practice on.

Thanks for the advice on trying them out for a while before making any adjustments.

I went with stiff based on other's suggestions as I'm fairly strong and definitely swing (too) hard and fast.

And my deal alert comes through! I have seen these come and go and have missed them, but I'm in for a regular flex version. Thanks OP!
