Be careful with Skyrim, Legendary Edition is the old game that came out in 2011, not Special Edition which came out in 2016. Skyrim LE does not get the Anniversary upgrades, it has a lower framerate, the graphics are not as good, and future mods like Skyblivion and Skywind will not support Skyrim LE. I strongly suggest getting Skyrim SE instead, even if it costs $5-10 extra

I have a gtx 970 running it on 2k with medium settings getting 30fps wish i was rich enough to get a new computer but don't want to pay $2k for one lol

Have you considered building a new one? Graphics cards are still insanely priced, but it seems the supply is getting a bit better. Just got a GTX 3060 for retail after about 2 weeks of hunting.

HZD is optimized very well, the latest update also has AMD FSR so anyone with a 1050 and above should be able to hit it up no problem

When was this? The last I played about 2 months ago and completed it the 3rd time my copy would crash on anything high/ultra. And I have 5950 and Rx 6900 xt too. Res is 1440p.

I plays with good frame rate but would random crashes to desktop between 30 - 45 mins if game play. Not heating issue either. I looked at temps.

Played other game without issues.

Medium settings and some high are good and stable.

I had the latest drivers for chipset and GPU too. Even tried rebuilding. Same issues at high/ultra.

Anyone with rx6900 has that same issues and were able to resolve?

Not sure if steam is better. It is very buggy and loads very slow, before you can even launch the game.
Horizon Zero looks like 2021 game with all settings maxed out.
