Maybe YOU should read. That just means there's one soldered stick. But it's still expandable by adding another stick into the available dimm slot.

FWIW, I was able to order the L14 second gen AMD with similar specs other than 8gb, 256gb for $629 last week. Compared to my previous T440p, the L14 is much slimmer and similar build quality. I can't imagine the T being that much better and you give up the two ram slots. It's my understanding that the L14 closer matches the T14p than the T14 matches the T14p. Similar to the R series of the past.

You still can add more RAM on the T14. The build quality on L is pretty solid but it's made from ABS plastic even though there is a aluminium display lid option for the L14. The T is made from a mix of high end materials like polycarbonate and magnesium alloy. T14 has a vastly superior screen. Battery life is also a little longer on the T14 and contrary to what you said the T series is actually thinner than the L series. Performance wise there will be little difference but there are things that make the T14 a better option for some including the screen. The base 250 nit screen on the L14 is basically unusable for me.
