Just did. Guess you're right and I stand corrected, thank you.
My apologies for the snarky remark.
Maybe YOU should read. That just means there's one soldered stick. But it's still expandable by adding another stick into the available dimm slot.

"Also the laptop does have additional slot to upgrade the RAM/Memory.

Please refer to this link below for complete specification:

I find this response truly wholesome and I'm proud of you.

Soldered RAM.
Maybe I will weld my car's spark plugs to the block and weld the hood shut. Makes just as much sense.

This is actually a great machine and probably best value if you don't need the best screen and need something to last (for starting university for example). The downsides are since it's AMD, lack of thunderbolt support for multiple monitors along with NOT being 16:10. Highly recommend!

That's a great deal but it's not a Thinkpad.
Though I 90% agree with that statement, nowadays Ideapad is more than adequate for most users. From user perspective, the only two difference between the two lines are plasticky versus rubberized palmrest feeling and the trackpoint, assuming the ideapad for the comparison has the IPS screen.

Wish decent gaming laptops were at this price range

I'm in the market for a high-performance machine, primarily for work that involves processing large datasets in Excel, graphic design work, off and on video calls all day, and a lot of multitasking in Firefox and other programs. I'm not a gamer, and I know just enough about computers to have a lot of questions — so I have always wondered:
— Am I way off-base in thinking that a lot of machines labeled "gaming PCs / laptops" seem to have specs that would be ideal for my needs?
— Would a gaming laptop be a good choice for a graphic designer or photography editor?
— Say I do take up gaming and continue in my current line of work— would I need two separate machines, one for business and one for gaming?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some guidance here. I haven't figured out who to ask about this stuff and you all seem to have a lot of expertise in these products.

It's only been two months wait for me so far, on the projected three-month ship, which has been updated to four additional months. I see a lot of cancellations from other customer's on reddit.
Buyer beware. Yes, these are great specs for the price. It feels a bit strange for them to market so aggressively, through a period that they are fulfilling so poorly.

The screen quality is all over the place with "gaming" labtops and that is probably important for graphics works. However all the higher end gaming machine should be able to do both work and gaming, it is just that they are heavy and short battery life so it will be a desktop replacement more than anything.

The "original price" of $2200+ is BS. I've never seen it that high and they probably just put that there so whatever price they put it at, it will always appear you are getting savings.

And who's asking for touchscreen? I think that's just gimmicky and not necessary. I have a Dell laptop that happens to have touchscreen but never use it. Don't need my screen to be a fingerprint magnet!

I have a e480 with i7 8gen whose sole USBC power port decided to stop charging. Now I stuck with effectively a once expensive brick, so any laptop with just one USBC port for power is kinda scary for me
