This is a 'good' deal. I got this last week at a Lowe's that said they were out of stock. Most Lowe's have at least 1 or 2 of these XTR kits, but they website and/or brickseek will report them being out of stock. They might be up high, or just sitting around somewhere in Tools. Also, cashier has to scan the Kobalt 24v code.

Inspect your crate/box before leaving the parking lot though. The first one I got had a gigantic crack in it behind the cardboard cover.

Great deal if you can find one. I too have this set, and I paid more and gladly would again. This impact and circular saw are absolute beasts! Read / watch reviews, one of the if not highest rated impacts out right now. The circular saw is just as good, love these tools.

Man this is a killer deal. I bought this set 3 years ago and have not regretted spending $450 for it. The Sawzall, the impact and the circular saw its all very solid top notch tools.

Great deal but I can't find it. I've been looking since Christmas time and can't find the set. Ended up getting Milwaukee since there were good deals to be had there recently. Sucks because I have like 600 bucks in Lowes store credit lol

Major Kobalt user for several several users. I bought various kits over the years and now have a broken Drill, Impact Driver from two different kits. I took the first broken Drill, which was part of a kit to Lowes and they gave me a CSR # to call. I had to call and obtain an RMA # and then had to take my entire kit back to Lowes with the RMA #. Since it was an older kit - Lowes or Kobalt couldn't replace the entire kit. Also they cited an excuse that they don't have an exact matching kit and offered me prorated refund of like 35% of the original value of the Kit provided I I give them back everything that came with the kit. The $s they offered wouldn't even get me a battery at today's prices. So be warned about Kobalt and their Smoballs warranty. Their products work ok for 2-3 years and then they all break. The more expensive Impact wrench I purchased for $200 is also acting funny - at least I purchased it separately and they have a matching item now - have to see what they say when it breaks.

My original Kawasaki kit I purchased back in 2005 still works. So much for these modern products. Not sure how the other modern manufacturers hold up including Metabo, Dewalt, Milwaukee etc. and how these companies honor their warranty.

I had an almost identical experience with the warranty. Essentially any kobalt power tools in a kit that breaks will require you to bring the entire kit back, even if the identical tool is sitting on the shelf in the store. Then after all that hassel they'll offer you some miniscule gift card after you turn in the entire kit. Avoid kobalt power tools if you care about the warranty.

I had a similar experience with a Kobalt miter saw. Lowes would tell me I have to go through Kobalt for the warranty, but when I called kobalt they gave me an Rma number and said I have to go to lowes with the numbe for an exchange but Lowes said they don't deal withRMA numbers. It was a big run around until I got angry and demand a credit or a replacement tool or I will return all of my 8 kobalt tools for full refund was when Lowes finally gave me a new saw. It was not worth it. The two companies do not have the process down at all. I was working as the mediator for free.

A little different experience for me with my Kobalt reciprocating saw that was bought in a kit. Luckily for me the store manager thought bringing the whole kit back was a stupid idea and just changed out the saw, but it was kind of a pain. Made me realize buying a kit does come with its downsides if you ever need a warranty replacement.

Tried a half dozen ZIP codes up and down the east coast. Only a couple store listed stock, and every one of them was $399.

As like others I've had issues with kobalt warranty.... not directly related to power tools, but a hex bit out of a hex bit socket kit.... lifetime in store replacement my butt... they told me to go online, get the address and mail it in on my dime and time. Luckly it was a company tool and I just bought a brand new set on the company card. Needed the tool that day to repair a hospital bed (hillrom service tech) during the height of the pandemic when there was no beds available anywhere.

On flip note had a craftsman socket wrench break (20yr old), swapped with no issues with a updated version.

Had a personal kobalt sliding miter saw go out of alignment and it was replaced after 3yrs.... that was 6yrs ago though.

Moral of this story... while it may be lifetime. Check what hoops you have to jump through in order to have it resolved.
