NOTE: it's possible that flash drive prices might be going up in the not-too-distant future; two factories had contamination that has affected at least 7 billion gigabytes of flash memory [arstechnica.com]. Not sure how this will flow through the supply chain, but If you're not sure whether to buy now or later, keep this in mind.

for $50 more** get the samsung 980 pro which is 2-4x the speeds of this.

WD just lost something like 6 exabytes of storage chips due to contamination. Prices might rise soon.

When you use percentage is seems a lot. But $50 dollars increase for this tech isnt much. Given that your motherboard can support pci gen 4

Both of those laptops use M.2 drives with the same pin set. They should work fine with this drive. The 7410 is an earlier model which might have had a shorter M.2 drive. You would have to look inside for to see if it would fit this 80mm size.

My laptop come with 256GB nvme ssd. There's also an empty SATA slot for my laptop. Should I upgrade my laptop with this P31 or a SATA ssd? Is it hard to transfer data and system from my original m.2 ssd to a new one?

Check that your SATA slot has all the cables and the rest. Some of them just offer space, but you still need a cable for it.

SATA SSDs are cheaper, you can keep your 256 as the boot drive, and add a cheaper SSD as drive #2 for all kinds of data. Something like Hynix S31.

I like this idea unless you have some use for a 256GB NVME drive. That's a good size for a boot drive. Put all your documents on the second drive.

I wish my experience with this drive was as good as everyone else's. Mine came in write-protected somehow and I couldn't figure out how to undo it. Tried everything I could find online. The SK firmware updater wouldn't even recognize the drive.
