Given that the drill & driver kit comes to $139 with the hack you're basically getting the ratchet for $61 extra with this deal, which requires no hack, but it's only a deal if you need everything in this kit. Most folks here have cancelled the ratchet to get the drill & driver kit hack deal, so I'm wondering how good is the actual ratchet and is it worth getting for $61? I never really saw the need for one if you have the 3/8" stubby since it isn't an impact tool. Is it Fuel, i.e. brushless?

Are you able to explain the hack to just get the hammer drill & driver (and batteries)? Do you buy this and just return the ratchet?

In the drop-down select the first option for just the drill & driver kit at $229, which will enable a free extra tool widget just under the price. Pick the first tool, a ratchet, which is normally $149, and add both to your cart. In the cart you'll see the kit and extra tool as separate items, each discounted by around 30%. The kit price is around $139.

Select the kit for store pickup and the ratchet for delivery, place the order, wait a couple of minutes for it to appear in your order history, then immediately cancel the ratchet. You'll end up being charged just for the kit at the discounted price, plus tax.

A few people have reported the kit being canceled but that appears to only happen in certain stores with overly diligent managers. This is how I did it a few weeks ago and it worked. I didn't need the ratchet although with this deal it just might be worth the extra $61 to me as I have some GCs I need to redeem.
