I digress.

I still wouldn't recommend a 4gb machine to anyone. Even if it's upgradable, by the time you've bought another stick of RAM you might as well just pay a bit more for a better laptop in most cases.

Newegg has 4gb for about $25, so there are options. Then you just have to figure out if this cheap unit has a slot for it, whether there is only a single DIMM slot and if the RAM it has is soldered or is 2x2gb or something ridiculous.
So yeah, totally doable if you're comfortable with it. As a tech guy I would try to avoid doing this for a friend or family member with a new laptop only because if anything ever went wrong with it in the next 5 years they'd bring it to me to fix because me adding that RAM must be the reason it's broken....
I'd rather go for the single stick of 8GB ($350 deal) over this configuration. Its very hard to find a single stick of 4GB these days and you will end up paying close to $50 anyways to get either dual 4GB or a single 8GB of quality ram. Having a single stick of 8GB gives you a logical upgrade path to 16GB down the line vs being limited to 8GB if you added another 4GB. The UHD GPU on this is also too slow to really benefit from dual channel memory unlike the Xe on the i5/i7 versions.
