Costco has similar laptop for sale.

https://www.costco.com/hp-pavilio...67826.html

Only difference is 512GB SSD. But you get additional year of warranty at costco and if you buy with credit card that adds 2 more years to warranty.

Easily one of the best bang for the buck in the current set of laptops that's listed at 13.3" deals. 400 nits, 1tb SSD, 16GB memory is more than you need for everyday tasks, plus it's portable.

Gosh, I think it is great because of the small screen. I travel a lot and I really don't want a 15" or 17" on the plane. And when in the hotel room, I just want something small and light to watch Netflix in bed. It is on sale because it is on sale...I don't think the screen size is the reason. Maybe I didn't fully understand your comment.

Agree. I wish it had usb-c power instead of the traditional plugs that wear out after a year (for me anyways)

A very slick deal indeed.
Only thing stopping me from buying it is that abysmal silver keyboard.

It's a personal preference. Smaller screen laptop means smaller keyboard with possibly weird layout or extra small keys and limited battery capacity. Also more likely to overheat.

Remember though that this is part of the new breed of 16:10 aspect ratio laptops, so you get more working space as it's a little bit taller.

Sounds like a good travel laptop.... but I already have one of those. I need something with similar specs but a bigger screen (15.6) to replace my huge and heavy Nitro 5 the Mrs uses. She complains loudly when she has to move it, or when she's gaming and the fans ramp up to full power.

If its 15.6" or 17" then, it would be $200 less, only few people are using those desktop dino size laptops these days or at least not since 2019.
I was about to pull the trigger on HP site, on 13.3", but, it was just 250 nits.
I am bit hesitant on this because of silver keyboard, otherwise this is a solid price for a very lightweight sleek laptop. I Stop using those giant desktop kind of laptops like 7 years back, I had one which I am using as desktop its hooked up to a docking station.

Well, actually the space in 14" and 13.3" laptops are bit more, there are hardly any bezels, I remember my 15.6" laptop had like 2" thick bezel and the actual working space is 13" only. Beside that those 15.6" weigh a ton compare to these and with WFH and moving out so much can't really carry these dinosaurs all the time.
