For those who are worried about wide mouth and getting splashed with water, I use these $5 universal Nalgene inserts. They are awesome. Got like 5 to use. $5 for blue or red.

We use small ones for walks. These are great for a long day. Wide mouth means you can clean them easily. Much better than anything else I've used, and no wasted space like those hydrocraps.

Thanks for the deal! Looks like REI is phasing out the regular Nalgenes and they are only going to carry the Sustain version moving forward. Who wants water bottles made of lower grade recycled materials?

They do not.. but when closed firmly the lid seals appropriately and does not leak.

The splash guards are nice, but I ended up ditching them because they were too much trouble on a day to day basis. Part of the beauty of Nalgenes is the simplicity (2 parts, drink from any side) and that takes some of the simplicity away. My wife swears by them, though….I just have to up my sipping game when I've got these.

Don't sip while pulling away from a stop sign. Big Grin

Which number resin is this? The point of Nalgene is the avoidance of certain kinds of resin, BPA free or not.

Somewhat related to your question. I've heard people say that the original white Nalgene bottles made with HDPE are safer than Nalgene bottles made with Tritan but they emit that plastic smell. Quite counterintuitive isn't it? The ones that smell are actually safer?

I think they are likely not making much, even less if you do the ship to store for pickup

Unless you are really anti REI (understandable I have my own issues with other companies) and don't even want to see the logo this is a pretty good deal for 32 oz Tritan and one of the cheapest I've found doing a quick search back to 2019. In 4 2 here

The Kleen Canteen stainless steel straws with silicone tips fit perfectly inside the 32oz Nalgenes and makes drinking easy and splash free. When you open the lid the silicone pops up and sticks out about 1.5 inches and flexes down flat when you need to put lid on. REI sells the straws in 4 and 2 pack.
