Yeah, that's one of the upgrades every garage should do. I have two 15, two 30's, and one 50 breaker.
I overloaded my garage 2 years ago, and it cost me over $17k to repair/replace damaged tools, fire damage, and install new panels (2 panels. Garage has its own separate one. 150a for house, 200a for garage.) I did GFCI's and a whole house breaker.
(Now the power company is putting lines underground. So the money I spent on a new, heavy duty riser was a waste.)
So take it from me, update yo 💩!!! Lol. Flipping the breaker back might not work forever.

Just got done running a new service to the garage only a 60a 240v but hell the house only has a 100 amp service. My dad's an electrician so all the materials were free. Brought the trencher home from work and went to town haha
Only 100a service? Yikes. I'd dedicate that to garage, and tell the family they will need to make some sacrifices! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Haha yeah I've tried to tell him just to go to a 200 amp service the rest of the house is already up to code just need a bigger line to the pole he'd only have to pay for a permit through work if he wanted to do it
