My biggest gripe would be the CPU, which is pretty weak and is on par with i5-8250U from 3 generations ago.

When you compare the i3 vs the latest i5 on single core performance (web browsing, streaming, productivity apps) they are basically a toss-up meaning it won't matter for most people. When you compare the i3 vs the i5 you mentioned, the i3 actually wins on single core performance anywhere from 35-51% better.
