Does this integrate with a Nest or Echo device/network?

If it is the model RTH6580WF, then yes it requires a C-wire

It integrates through Google home or Amazon Alexa, so technically yeah you can control it through nest or echo

Check with your local power company first, many of them offer smart thermostats at a discount.
Con Ed marketplace is showing a brand new for $30 for me. YMMV

I hope those aren't the ones that once you install the power company has the ability to turn your heat/AC up or down remotely.

I think you can opt out of that regardless

Yes, I was going to say this. BGE is free after rebate.

why would one buy this ugly-looking outdated product? I suggest checking your local power companies, PSEG is giving 150 discounts on Nest products i.e. some models are almost free.
Some people prefer physical buttons, so I can see this appealing to those that don't like the look of a nest product or just want wifi capabilities in the same form factor as what they have already.

For sure check local utility rebate offers if in the market for a new thermostat.

Cause some folks prefer cheap, simple looking thermostats. We had this thermostat for a couple of years. I paid $40 for it on Amazon. Paired with rebates offered by our power company the unit paid for itself plus $75 after 2 years of use.

The Honeywell was actually a great thermostat. We switched to a Nest when we moved into a new place and it stopped working after less than a year. We pulled out the Honeywell as a temporary replacement and it still worked just fine. We have an Ecobee now, but the Honeywell is still stashed in a closet as a backup.

I was never able to get a nest working with my hvac system. I have this thermostat and it worked no issues. My hvac installer said he has more problems with nests vs other thermostat.

Because I'm in an area that never offers rebates for smart products so I just want something cheap I can control remotely.

I'm assuming your referring to the nest as an alternative. I think they're pretty ugly, actually. A shiny black knob in a mid-century home doesn't tends to look pretty ugly and out of place. Plus the price. Also, that AI that's integrated with the Nest is beyond annoying to me. I'm quite capable of programming my own comfort. I don't need a robot deciding when to turn my heat up.

Also, in what way is this outdated?
