I doubt that they are fake. I bought the 1000XM4's within the last few months, and they seemed good quality. My only complaint with that product is that they fall out of my ears easily if I turn my head or make certain movements. I've also seen this specific seller sell these XM4's and other products here via SD for months and months... so I think they are legit.

I picked these up because I lost my XM4's, or a family member took them... it may turn up eventually, but these are good for $30 and still pretty low profile.

If they're official Sony refurbs units, and they do appear to be, they'll have been sterilized and have new tips. No wax concern. Knowing Sony, they probably replaced the outer plastic shell completely.

Still, I have Galaxy Buds 2 so I'm passing on these.

Can anyone recommend a good set of earbuds with active noise cancellation? Microphone quality doesn't matter - no one talks to me (and I don't listen to anyone either - hence the need for ANC).

I had the WF-SP800N and really liked them. The right ear bud starting acting wonky after a few months, so I got a warranty refund through Allstate. Upgraded to the WF-1000XM3. I highly recommend both.
