Note sure if you can get them to add the referral manually for an eBay refurb (even though these appear to be coming direct from Oculus) as it is my understanding they usually require the purchase receipt, so YMMV (and nothing to lose by giving it a shot). If you value the credit at 100% value, it's better to buy a new unit than this refurb (just use a credit card that gives a free second year warranty) so the net cost will be $240 after factoring in the referral credit.

There is also a referral method that gets you the $60 store credit plus a free Amazon gift card that a lot of people don't realize or know about, but we unfortunately are not allowed to openly discuss referral details on SD Frown

From my experience referrals don't work for refurbished units. However customer support will add it manually

There is a spacer that comes with it that works well enough for glasses. The better solution is to buy a specific $10 pair of glasses from zenni and 3d print some lens adapters. https://www.zennioptical.com/p/me...uId=550021

you can find stl files for the lens adapters on thingiverse. I use these because I like the magnets for taking the adapters off easily for when I let other people use my headset.

Great to pair with the $60 friend referral credit if you have a friend or family member with an existing Oculus.

I got a refurb from a previous deal. Always looking to add new friends to play with nod

Can anyone comment on what they do to "refurbish" a unit? I obviously hope they sanitize it and replace any silicone face covers but how about the battery?

I believe you can get inserts with your prescription, but wearing it while wearing glasses could possibly damage if you were to scrape against it.

Battery and lenses are not replaced unless they're severely damaged.

The refurb I got has about 80% battery capacity left and the lenses were scratched.

I'd recommend either getting insurance or bite the bullet for a brand new unit.

Did you buy from this seller or Oculus direct via their website? I'm pretty sure these are coming directly from Oculus so expect them to be good quality, but confirmation would definitely be helpful. TIA!

64GB is totally not worth extra 50 bucks. VR applications are relatively small. With VD, you can play PCVR, with SKYBOX, you can stream videos in your PC via samba (file sharing).

They have aftermarket rubber rings that you can get to protect the lenses.

Put them on before first use and you should be safe.

Got a 64gb version before. The unit looks slightly used (but just slightly), but the important part is the lens are in good condition.
