Have to remove rubber feet and pry open entire bottom cover to upgrade. Might be a challenging task for some.
It has one. Toggles on and off with an F key. I got this in December at $500 and pretty happy with it. I have no idea how so many people use sub-17" laptops as stationary home PCs now that I've gotten spoiled

Speaking of F keys, I don't like having to hold Ctrl just to push F5 to refresh, or F2 in Excel. They all default to things like external monitor or volume controls. IMHO it should be the other way around — Function first, Ctrl-function for all the ancillary stuff.
The RAM seems to be upgradeable according to this YouTuber: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I...rLc&t=214s

Most of HP's 17 inch laptops have RAM upgradeability, so this should be no different.

Iris Xe is pretty good as a built in video card. If you need serious gaming, buy a gaming laptop/desktop.

Your ignorance is astounding...

It doesn't actually have a video card... so there is no video card to run any games. At all.

That being said, the integrated graphics on this are not bad for a budget laptop. It will run most games my kids play just fine (minecraft, roblox, unturned) at usable fps/settings.

What exactly do you expect from a $500 laptop? You can't even buy a graphics card for $500.

Good insight, thank you but you got my hopes up with the $300 typo. It's $500.

Edit: looks like you fixed it, thanks again.

Can't you disable those keys in bios?

I suspect you can, I was just more lamenting how my precious F keys have been co-opted by entertainment functions over the years. This is the first laptop (out of about 10) where I've ever seen the default NOT be the F key, if that makes sense. Priorities!

Mostly a non-issue since I typically use an external keyboard. I'm one of those weirdos who can't get used to laptop keyboards. But at least it has a 10-key!
