I'm going to admit right away that I'm being lazy and instead of going and researching all of this I'm just going to clarify something. Is this actually a good price? I see lots of deals pop up for drives like this but I haven't been able to keep a handle on what a good price is and what the best price is.

Yeah it's ok price. 2TB often around $299 so it's right in line. Not earth shattering but an ok deal.

I just picked up the 2TB with the heatsink from the store here in Denver. The 2TB w/heatsink when you price request was 289.99, without the heatsink was 269.99. The 1TB w/heatsink was 159.99.

I dont want to start a new thread on this because it is a YMMV, but.... Staples has this model for $239, and if you can get the 110% PM , you can get another $10 off..

I got a Email from Microcennter this morning. Subject line "Excellent Choice!". I looked at the the Email and it said to check the current price on a drive I looked at last night. I , click the link. 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe Interface PCIe 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND 3 bit MLC Technology (MZ-V7S1T0B/AM) SKU#874099 Current Price: $99.99

I smiled because I was trying to spend some Staples rewards. This is a model Staples sells. So I went to the Staples down the road from MC and asked if they 110% PMed Microcenter. He looked on his phone and read the terms to be sure. He said yup.. Staples has them for $250. They 110% Pmed the price. It came to $85 shipped.. Not too shabby way to use the rewards that were expireing.. I was going to piss them away on this drive pm'ed at BB for $110 so if they deny the MC PM BB will work for sure. Yea I had to order it from the Kiosk, and it will be shipped so I did not leave with it, but hopefully you will find a Staples that you can replicate the deal if you need one,

In store they also had several Clearance SSD's They had a Seagate 2.5 inch 1tb for $65 priced on the shelf ( it was on clearance for $90 at xmas, but did not have it in the store then, so I dont know why they did not pull the empty display box off the shelf then),, but had none in stock, but they also had 500gb HP Nvme for $50. Staples Also carries the PNY CS3030 (has d-ram) 512gb nvme for $78 and BB has them for $64 if you were like me and needed to spend $40 this month. They also had a $60 2tb Seagate external( that was my third choice) or a 1tb laptop spining hard drive was like $40-$45 too.. Please dont start a new thread on these deals.. Some idiot will call first and ruin it for the rest of the deal hunters..

Staples PMs in store still works, Online not so much..

Might even get BB to PM MC prices on the samsung drives .. YMMV of course.. but it never hurts to ask nicely at the store.
