Decades ago? This was released 5 years ago. And what did you use for radar detector if no a ....radar detector ?

They are still popular you are just not listening anymore. Uniden got the market by the balls top performer at very reasonable prices.

A radar detector is just another tool in the arsenal. Waze, radar detector, CB radio, and common sense go a long way.

Been running r3 since it was released, debating it r4 or r7 upgrade is worth it. R7 arrows definitely a nice feature, but further range and better filtering in r4 sounds like beefed up r3. Hoping for a sale for the r7

The R7 is great. If you like the R4, the R8 is being released in April and is basically all the features of the R4 combined with the arrows of the R7. Pricey though….$699. A deal on R7 would be a way to go.

Got the R3 and run it in both cars and it is great. Great detection and has saved my ass a couple times. I usually drive 10-20 over and nice to know. If im hauling ass on backroads, it has also been useful.

For those driving through GA, I got busted with laser doing 18 over by a deputy coming-up behind me.

Moments before stopping me, I had passed his cruiser, parked along 75, giving another Criminal a citation.

I was driving the posted 70 when passing, then gave it a few miles to return to my Criminal Ways.

Yes, my Uniden was supposed to pick-up laser from by 6, but .... didn't Frown

.... he must've been seriously booking it, to catch up to me.

Lol, I guess I'm just glad he didn't get me at the 20+ I had been occasionally doing.

Unfortunately all radar detectors have unreliable laser detection, even Uniden's newest R4. If there is laser in your area go with a laser jammer which is expensive.

Laser detection is difficult but if you are smart, ie use decent radar detector, use waze app and try not to be the lead car you should be ok. Laser usage requires a stationary vehicle with the operator pointing at the targeted vehicle to get the speed. So bad weather & night time usage is zero. Plus many of these operators rather sit in their patrol car & flip through their phone than aim at speeders all day. laugh out loud
