I have this exact laptop and have not even impressed with Lenovo or the build quality.
14 months after purchase I'm left with a door stop. Laptop refuses to power on.
I've pressed and held down the start button to reduce static, disconnected the battery and reconnected.

I've replaced the battery and the charger port and purchased a new charger.

Nothing has made a difference and Lenovo customer service were unresponsive.
Never again, very disappointed after reading such good things about Lenovo.
YMMV and I probably/may have got a "bad" one; but thought I would share.

If you try to buy a laptop based on brand then you will probably won't be able to buy anything. It depends upon specific model to model, not the whole brand vs other brand.

This seems like a solid build for the price. My usage would be for mobile/consulting use, and even though the 16GB is soldered, that should provide a good amount for MS Office use, multitasking, etc. and size seems good and light for mobility. Currently using a Latitude 7390 and I feel like this would be a good upgrade.

This or Dell Inspiron 5510 with similar configuration and price range? Which brand is more reliable and durable?

For those wondering its between 3.04 - 3.06lbs depending on whether its the plastic or metal model. If you want a comparison, the macbook air weighs 2.8lbs. The specs look pretty good for this price, I would imagine the performance to be comparable to a higher priced laptop like the macbook air. Specs are from lenovo website [lenovo.com].

I bought one from local store, it is $50 more, but the employee match the online price. Looks very good, except I don't like gray.

Credit cards offer extended warranty. I think Citi card is the way to go then Amex card.
