Instead, buy organic oats at $2 a pound, and throw in some cheap organic sugar?!?

Solution: Add a ton of sugar and some cinnamon to make oats go down easier and to reverse satiation resulting in craving more carbs soon.

I usually use these as flavor enhancer in my homemade oatmeal. I mix a cup of this with a cup of oats and add some almond/peanut butter and other stuff.
But I know it defeats the the main appeal of this cup that is to just have a quick breakfast in 2 minutes by microwaving.
Regarding the expiration date, I got the bagged version of this from Amazon a couple of years ago, which was very close to expiration. It smelled stale. I complained and they sent me another pack.(some people believe they put these on your tab!)

The cinnamon used in food products isn't the blood sugar stabilizing form of Ceylon cinnamon. While the cinnamon used is grown in nature, it's not "real cinnamon"

Ceylon cinnamon is pretty uncommon here. Even McCormick sells Saigon as it tastes stronger and apparently more popular. The main advantage of Ceylon is that it's kinder on the liver.
